Some time around June 1967 Brazilian radio stations started airing 'Music to watch girls by' a song that caught everyone's ears. It was a swinging sound that reminded one a little of Herb Alpert's Tijuana Brass but not quite.
The single went up the charts with The Bob Crewe Generation but soon was caught up by organ-soloist Lafayette's version. Not long after teen-age heart-throb Ronnie Von wrote Portuguese lyrics for it and went up the charts too.
