'El alma que canta' was an Argentine music magazine published between 1916 and 1961. It printed mostly lyrics of tangos, milongas, canciones etc. Here are some instances of how the magazine looked like. These issues used to belong to Hormindo Retamero, a Brazilian singer who used to be a fervent fan of tango. He was born in São Paulo of immigrant Spanish parents. When Hormindo was young he travelled to Buenos Aires where he lived (and worked) for some time in the early 1940s. I think some of these magazines date from the period Hormindo lived in Buenos Aires.
